Day 1
We will depart Louisville this morning and travel to Morehead, KY for our morning break. We will continue on to Tamarack-The Best of West Virginia for lunch. Overnight accommodations are in Harrisonburg, VA.

Day 2
We will depart the hotel this morning and travel to Washington, DC. We will visit the Ronald Reagan Building where you will have lunch on your own at the food court. After lunch, you will have the rest of the afternoon to divide your time between the many buildings of the Smithsonian Institute depending on your interest. The museums of the National Mall area include: American History, Natural History, National Air and Space, American Indian, National Gallery of Art and more. The Museum of the Bible and the Spy Museum are within walking distance as well. We will enjoy dinner at the Silver Diner before checking into Courtyard Marriott right outside of DC, where we will overnight the next 2 nights.B,D

Day 3

Today we will have a full day of DC! We will begin our day with a picture stop at Iwo Jima Memorial before our tour of Arlington Cemetery. Visit the graves of President Kennedy and Robert Kennedy. Witness the Changing of the Guard and the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier. We will have lunch (on your own) at the National Place and meet our tour guide. Enjoy the Capitol Tour with our DC Licensed Tour Guide. Afterwards, we will take an afternoon tour to include the Monuments, White House grounds, Jefferson, Lincoln and Vietnam Veterans Memorials, FDR Memorial, WWII Memorials and much more. This evening, experience the beauty of our Washington monuments with Moonlight Monument Tour. B

Day 4
This morning, we depart the hotel and will visit the Smithsonian Museums to tour on your own. We will depart at noon and travel to Mount Vernon, one of the nation’s most beloved historic sites. Upon arrival, enjoy lunch in the food court or the Restaurant. Visit the Gardens, Museum, Farm, The Tombs and Historic Trades. Mt. Vernon offers a glimpse into 18th century plantation life through beautiful gardens and grounds honoring George Washington’s legacy and life. We will have a guided tour of the Mansion – Home of George Washington - an American landmark and an enduring tribute to the Father of Our Country, before departing. We will travel back to Harrisonburg, VA to overnight. B

Day 5
We will make our return trip home stopping for lunch and breaks en-route. We will arrive home at approximately 6:00 pm with fond memories of our Washington D.C. tour of 2023 that will last a lifetime. B
